So yea I suck with this. After leaving for Oklahoma, everything's been insane.
So I'm starting over. The detox didn't do that great.
Weight today: 160 lbs
Not pleased with that. I'm 5'8" ... that is 24.9 BMI - .1 away from overweight. So yea I'm healthy.. but add a pound or two... I'm overweight.
Ideal weight: 130
Goal weight: 145 ... by May (should be feasible)
Going to go back on the Slimquick - I bought a bottle and used it.. then bought another one and only took it a day. I don't know if it'll work or anything, but I own it and can't return it... might as well.
I'm going to try and have healthier lunches, and then if dinner has dark meat or some sugar, oh well. I'm only drinking diet soda, ice tea or water - no regular soda, alcohol, etc.
I've cancelled my gym membership with Planet Fitness because it's too far and the facility isn't worth it. I ordered a program to do at home. I really want to do it. But I've found that I'm a quitter. I don't want to be this time. It's just hard to go out of my way somewhere when I work in the opposite direction and then I go to class now in another direction.
What I might do is make myself a schedule or list - I'm one of those weird people who LOVE to have a check list and have LOADS of satisfaction of it being completely checked off.
Anyway...
Food:
- 1/2 cup of white rice with broccoli, garlic, adobo seasoning
- water
- 100 calories pack of Special K Strawberry Crisps
- 4 oz of steak
- 1 serving of spinach
- 1 1/2 servings of scallopped potatos
- 1/2 can of diet coke
- 1 pack of freeze dried strawberries and bananas

Detox Days 5 & 6
So yea I know I'm slacking...
It's been hard with everything that's been going on right now.
Day 5:
Food:
- 4 medical shakes
- 2 packets of apple cinnamon freeze dried food
- roasted califlower & broccoli with garlic
- spinach
Activity: None
Day 6:
- working on those 4 medical shakes (2 down so far)
- 1 packet of apple freeze dried food
Activity: None so far
- Going home to CT for the night and then going to TX/OK tomorrow (flying) so it's going to be hectic.
I'm keeping with the detox, just cutting 1 day out. Tomorrow is supposed to be another one of today, but I'm going to skip it and end on Monday instead of Tuesday.
I'm so exhausted. I can't wait to get home and just sleep. I just wish I wasn't losing hours - I'm broke as ever right now. :(

Detox Day 4
I don't wanna do this anymore...
I miss food!!! Cheese, bread, meat.... even rice (since I can't have it today)
It's almost Day 5, meaning I'm halfway there. It is a 10 day thing, but you only limit food 9 of those days... Day 10 is more of a CONGRATS!
Days 5 - 7 are going to be the hardest. Only a limited number of veggies, plus apples, pears, and apple juice (unsweetened)
Food log:
- 1 medicine shake w/ apple juice, strawberries and bananas
- 1 package of freeze-dried strawberries and bananas
- 1 package from Pathmark of fruits - blueberries, strawberries, mango and kiwi
- 1 more package of freeze-dried strawberries and bananas
- baked french fries dipped in basalmic vingerette... actually really good
- lots of spinach
- another gross medical detox shake, with apple juice and banana
Activity:
- so far none, but I would like to go out after dinner for a walk... clear my head.
On a depressing note, my grandmother passed away this morning... so I'm to head home to CT and then fly down to OK for the wake and funeral. I'm not sure how this detox thing will continue... but I will try.
RIP Gran 1.11.12 <3

Detox Day 3
So Day 3 - 1/3 of the way done.
Doing better. Had a small headache, but nothing too bad. These cramps are killing me though.
Food:
- Detox shake w/ blueberries, strawberries, almond milk and a splash of stevia
- 1 banana
- 1/2 cup raisins
- vanilla roobis tea from starbucks
- Rice w/ broccoli and garlic
- Trail mix (minus the corn)
- A little of the rice pudding... wasn't that great :(
- Rice w/ garlic and a bunch of spices, and I fried it... soooo good
- 1 1/2 cups of spinach
*I'm definitely jealous of people's food*
Activity:
- didn't go to the gym but did go for a walk/run around the block, 30 mins, 360 calories. Not bad.
At work being bored - 8 hours with only seeing patients about 3 of them. But that's okay.

Detox Day 2
This detox sucks.
It's only day 2 and I wanna quit.
Headache started last night at about 11.30pm, and I had one when I woke up. There are some supplements that we can take and I took one this morning and one again around 1pm when my headache came back. I'm not doing too bad now, other than some horrible cramps that I wasn't expecting....
Food:
- 1 medical food shake, with ice, almond milk, strawberries and banana
- 1 banana
- 1 cup of raisins
- 1 cup of rice with garlic and adobe seasoning and olive oil
- 1/2 cup of trail mix (raisins, peanuts, cashews, corn (who puts corn in trail mix) sunflower seeds)
- 3/4 cup of rice with garlic, adobe seasoning, olive oil and broccoli
- 1 glass of apple juice
LOTS OF WATER - I feel like I'm going to drown
Didn't make it to the gym today. My cramps are killing me and I was so tired after work... even though I didn't do anything.
I'm going to force myself tomorrow morning. I just don't think I can do what I've been doing. Just a little warm up with some strength training - I can't push myself too hard right now with this limited intake.
I hope these cramps let up *crosses fingers*
On a good note, I did find a rice pudding that is allowable on the detox (for only a few days...) so I made that and am waiting for the final outcome.... something sweet in my diet is a must!!!

- 5 mins eliptical
- 10 mins biking
brutal
Down to 156 pounds - lost 2 pounds this week, with only going to gym.

Day 5
So... today's been lame.
Went to work in the morning. Then went to lunch. Then I've been a lazy bum and done nothing haha.
Went to lunch with a friend from my old job.... went to Ben's Kosher Deli. Actually pretty good.
- some coleslaw
- 1 piece of rye bread
- pastrami sandwich on rye with deli mustard
- 1 diet coke
- 1 potato knishe - fried *ahhhhhh... should have done baked!!***
- the other fish filet from last night w/ seafood stuffing
- 1 serving of scalloped potatoes
- 1 buttered roll.
Haven't been to the gym yet. Hoping to go later, but I don't know if I will be able to...
Edit: Tried to go to the gym.. but they closed at 9pm (I wanted to go at 9)... they are open 24 hours during the week... but not on the weekends. That's when I want to go late! Work EXTRA HARD tomorrow!!!
Dreading next week... DETOX time. But I know that afterwards it will definitely be worth it. Only 10 days.

Day 2
Yay, I've made it to day 2.
I keep thinking of this as a "Let's take it day by day, not a whole project at once."
So far for today,
Food Log:
- Strawberry Nutrigrain Bar
- 1 serving of pasta with alfredo and brocoli
- another strawberry nutrigrain bar
- ravioli w/ brocoli and cheese w/ alfredo sauce
- 2 pierogies
- 2 rolls with butter
- 1/2 potato supreme
- 2/3 can of diet coke
damn... dinner killed me.
- snack laster.... chips and salsa... but I don't think I went overboard.
Activity:
- Cardio for 1.05 hours again - 787 calories. 35 min running, 15 walking and 10 biking.
I feel really good. I'm not looking to diet this week - Next week I plan on starting a detoxification program, and I just want to see what I really eat.
Went back to work today - Hadn't been working since Dec 21. I actually miss it :)

Day 1
Hey there everyone!
So I doubt anyone will read this, but I'm going to do the "New Year's" thing and try and lose weight. No, it's not a resolution, instead it's a "oh crap I realized I gained 10 pounds in a month... and that's not good".
I'm by no means overweight, I'm just unhappy with where I am at. Being overweight and having problems that come with that are starting to show up in my family, and I want to stay away from that.
My half brother and sister are still in high school, but are in amazing athletic shape - I'm jealous. I wasn't like that in high school - Marching Band wasn't really an athletic sport... (but I did lose weight every band camp!)
I never started worrying about my weight until college, when I was on the shot birth control which caused me to sky rocket up 30 pounds. :( Since then, I've been averaging about 150, which is a good weight for someone my height (5'8") but it's all fat now.
I've had a huge appetite overhaul, which I know has been disastrous - I was called the bottomless pit when I was young, and I never put on any weight. Unfortunately, the bottomless pit appetite is back, but damn I wish I had the metabolism I used to.
I battle with depression and anxiety, as it seems many people do nowadays, and I'm trying to get off my medications - causing the dreaded side effect of weight gain.
My goal is lose 18 lbs (I'm 158 today, and I'd like to be 140... less would be nice, but lets not be greedy).
I want to look healthy, feel healthy, and be happy with who I am. I know there are some people that wish they could be 158, but this is the heaviest I've ever been (for the 2nd time). I don't have energy, I feel weak when I do anything, and I know that I'm headed in a bad direction if I don't change something about my lifestyle.
I plan on blogging (again I doubt anyone would want to read my ramblings) just to keep me in my place, and to keep track of my life.
So... for today:
Weight: 158
Food log:
- 2 packets of Strawberries & Cream oatmeal (130 cals each) with water
- glass of 2% milk -- wish I could go back to 1%, but the boyfriend doesn't like it... I might go back to almond milk as well
- buffalo turkey sandwich on a roll with provolone & thousand island dressing.... probably not the best for me :/, but we need to finish it before it goes bad
- honey mustard and onion pretzels - one serving
- 5 potato pierogies w/ onions
- 2 hershey kisses - I suckered into some sweets, but I said no to pudding!
Activity:
- went to the gym for 1:05... and I burned 750 cals. <3 my polar heart rate monitor. Ran/walked for 30 mins and then did some strength training
If anyone still is here paying attention, I'd love to have someone who could be my buddy in forcing me (and I'd do the same) to make sure we stick to our plans.
